About the Alliance

The Northwest Alliance for Psychoanalytic Study is a non-profit, 501(c)3, membership organization dedicated to making psychoanalytic knowledge available and useful to interested professionals and to the community at-large in the Pacific Northwest.  Founded in 1989, our current  membership consists of about 400 people, largely drawing from mental health professionals including psychologists, psychiatrists, mental health counselors and social workers.

The Alliance provides opportunities to study psychoanalytic theory and therapy through classes, presentations and study groups.  We are dedicated to the examination and discussion of a wide variety of approaches to theory and practice in psychoanalysis and we encourage research of psychoanalytic concepts.
