About ACPC
The ACPC, founded in 1995, is a project of the Northwest Alliance for Psychoanalytic Study. The idea was, and still is, one of win-win-win. The clients win by receiving quality, long term psychotherapy. The therapists wins by receiving consultation from a more senior clinician in the community. The senior clinician wins by having the opportunity to teach, mentor and give back to their professional community.
The Clinic Without Walls is made possible by psychotherapists in private practice throughout the greater Seattle area, who volunteer their time and talents to assure the excellence of our services.
The clinic's mission is to make psychoanalytic psychotherapy available to members of our community who would otherwise not be able to afford it while supporting the clinical development of individual therapists.
The Internship is another program sponsored by the Alliance. Here a group of clinician are working together to create a community of learners for a 2-year period. During this time, interns, instructors, supervisors and mentors share the task of self reflectively exploring and developing practical clinical skills as psychoanalytic psychotherapists. Learning experiences are designed to help intern therapists deepen their understanding through direct service, individual supervision, clinical case seminars, didactic seminars, mentoring, and personal therapy.
The Clinic Without Walls is currently providing psychotherapy and clinical training throughout the Seattle area. The Internship will end with the graduation of the 2006-2008 class of interns.
Operations Committee for the Internship program is Jeffrey Eaton, David Allen, Donna James, Tom Saunders and Susan DeMattos.
Operations Committee for the Clinic Without Walls is Janice Hickey, Susan Baum, Robin Westby and Maria Minkova.
