(We regret to inform everyone that Dr. Annie Rogers has unfortunately fallen ill and cannot travel to Seattle September 14 for our time together. We are of course disappointed but praying for her quick recovery.

Dr. Rogers has rescheduled her presence at our Relational Perspectives Series for Friday, November 9, 2018. We are hopeful that many of you will be able to join us on this new date to learn from Dr. Rogers.

If you are able attend on the new date, you do not need to take any action. Your event registration will remain intact and we will look forward to being with you on November 9th.

If you are unable to make this new date, we will of course provide a full refund of your event fees. To initiate this please email events@theseattleschool.edu. We will process these as soon as possible and send you a refund confirmation email.

Again, we share your disappointment that this event has to be postponed and truly hope that you will be able to join us November 9th. Dr. Rogers regrets that she is not able to be with us this weekend and is looking forward to being with our learning community come November.)

In this talk Dr. Rogers revisits a child analysis across four years, focusing on the last teachings of Lacan as a guiding framework. She explores the position of the analyst and the invitation to the child to discover a space for the Real in the work of play. What is crucial is this case is the child’s use of his body- in physical responses that configure what cannot be said, and the Father of the Name- the analyst’s act of making a space for naming the unrepresented. These two pivots foreground the child’s singular experience of analysis and make a new path for his life.

Suggested Readings for Friday evening's lecture are available and can be downloaded.  "Psychoanalytic Interpretation Through a Lacanian Lens" by Alan Rowan and a "Glossary of Key Terms" are both located at the bottom of this page beneath contact information.
