"When somebody works with hardship in an openhearted and humorous way...when somebody
cultivates his or her bravery, everyone responds, because we know we can do that too."
-Pema Chodron
The ACPC, founded in 1995, is a project of the Northwest Alliance for Psychoanalytic Study. The idea was, and still is, one of win-win-win. The clients win by receiving quality, long term psychotherapy. The therapists wins by receiving consultation from a more senior clinician in the community. The senior clinician wins by having the opportunity to teach, mentor and give back to their professional community.
The “Clinic Without Walls” (the ACPC program) is made possible by psychotherapists in private practice, throughout the greater Seattle area, who volunteer their time and talents to provide the best psychotherapy services available at an affordable fee.
The clinic's mission is to make psychoanalytic psychotherapy available to members of our community who would otherwise not be able to afford it while supporting the clinical development of individual therapists and consultants.
The Operations Committee for the Alliance Community Psychotherapy Clinic is Janice Hickey (Chair), Maria Minkova, Robin Westby, Lindsey Rosen, Aleta Mattaino, Lynn Garvey and Bob Berley.
The Steering Committee for the Alliance Community Psychotherapy Clinic is Marcia Robbins, Kris Wheeler, Barb Walkover, Ginger Glawe Harstad, Donna James and Janice Hickey.
