During times of crisis and change, we need someone who is able to effectively listen, facilitate a greater sense of understanding and clarity, and assist with working towards a more genuine and effective way of being and relating. I bring an empathetic understanding and personal sensitivity to each person's experience, and try to help clients understand, both emotionally and intellectually, the deeper roots of their difficulties.
I have extensive training in psychodynamic psychotherapy and trauma-focused therapy. I work with clients on issues of depression, anxiety, attachment and relational issues.
I am fascinated by attachment theory and child development; how people are impacted by their early experiences and first relationships. I believe that increasing self-understanding, learning tools to manage symptoms, and engaging in a therapeutic relationship is a healing process. I am engaged in ongoing education to develop my skills as a clinician, and am a Certified EMDR Therapist which brings me an additional array of tools to utilize during treatment.
