“The least of things with a meaning is worth more in life than the greatest of things without it.”* ~C.G. Jung

Day to day life can feel like trying to navigate the stormy surface of the sea—struggling to climb the swell of one intimidating crest after another, then plummeting back down into the succeeding trough, only to see the cycle repeat. How might life be different if we learned to find and follow the deeper currents that lie below the surface? This lecture will use stories and the arts as starting points to illustrate what that quest for depth might look like, and how it can lead to the kind of meaning that Jung prized so highly. From these examples, we will then try to discern some broader principles for guiding our individual and collective journeys.
