Over the course of this nine month webinar series, Franco Scabbiolo will try to develop the innovative idea that, in the cases of patients with significant internal object abandonment, the creative countertransference generates a transference process that allows the patient to become alive, first internally, then externally. Scabbiolo will use clinical material, articles, literature, and film to throw light onto the complexity of this phenomenon.

Psychoanalysis has been known as the talking cure, and in this spirit, we invite you to a conference where we can explore the vicissitudes of expressing ourselves.
Relational Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy Seattle Fall Class
Greetings Alliance Community. Hope you are enjoying your summer. We want to share news about what we’re planning for 2018-2019. We begin with a fall class. This class looks at the relational analytic literature with a focus on clinical implications of racism and othering. Each author in the curriculum highlights ways to move toward greater awareness of the ways race and othering may play out in the transference/countertransference field.
The psychoanalyst W.R. Bion emphasized the need to construct models to aid reflection on the complexity of analytic interaction. Inspired by his example, this program explores elements of a “listening grid” that an analyst might use to help reflect upon the “data” of a session. Eaton will present three short lectures aimed at stimulating discussion on the complexity of the listening process.
