NPSI Pre-EBOR Lecture: "Winnicott's Words: Lexicon, Language and Key Concepts in 'On the Basis for a Self in the Body'"

The May Scientific Meeting is the third in a series NPSI is offering this spring for those interested in our Twelfth International Evolving British Object Relations Conference on "The Body as Psychoanalytic Object: Clinical Applications from Winnicott to Bion and Beyond" (October 12-14, 2018). Rather than a typical scientific presentation, this meeting will function as a study group oriented to the conference theme.

The Language of Creativity: Dante's Paradiso - Franco Scabbiolo, MD

Scabbiolo’s Creative Psychoanalytic Process suggests that at the heart of transition, transformation, and creativity in analysis is a creative sensation, an innate impulse that, when fostered and allowed to thrive, changes both patient and analyst. This impulse allows for both individuals, and their internal objects, to develop the freedom to create. Scabbiolo suggests that this creative sensation is present in the analytic process from the very beginning and can be found in fields of dreams, transference and countertransference, artwork, children’s play, and events.

This Scientific Meeting is the second in a series NPSI is offering this spring for those interested in our Twelfth International Evolving British Object Relations Conference on "The Body as Psychoanalytic Object: Clinical Applications from Winnicott to Bion and Beyond" (October 12-14, 2018). Rather than a typical scientific presentation, this meeting will function as a study group oriented to the conference theme. Thus, everyone should come prepared to engage in a discussion of the readings.
