Our newest series presented by Dr. Avedis Panajian will seek to address the role of transference and transference interpretations in analytic therapy.

Issues related to transference that will be explored during the series:

*Excessively personalizing the transference.

*How to facilitate the unfolding of the internal world of the patient.

*The significance of the analyst’s identification with the dimensionality of the primitive sensory world of the patient and analyst.

*Sensitivity of the analyst in differentiating the need of the patient for the vertical level of interventions before the horizontal level of interpretations.

*The significance of allowing space for analyst and patient to examine material, and their relevance to past events and the repetition compulsion.

*The hazards of excessive interpretations will be discussed.

*The relationship of interpretation and construction with neurotic and non-neurotic organizations.

*How ego fragility affects temporality, interpretation and construction.

*The value of timing in providing constructions to patients based on their capacity to rebind after unbinding.

*What are containing interpretations?

Dr. Panajian will demonstrate the above complex concepts through several clinical case presentations.
