Listening in a psychotherapy session is a complex activity. How does a psychotherapist select what to pay attention to as a session unfolds? What will you bring to the patient’s attention through interpretation?
This seminar will explore a variety of possibilities of listening tasks in a psychotherapy process. Building on the work of Melanie Klein, Wilfred Bion, and Donald Meltzer, among others, we will explore several different listening “gates” to help begin to build a detailed picture of a patient’s experience.
10 sessions, 2nd Saturday of the month beginning in September 9-10:30 AM
Location: Online (via Zoom)
Fees: $450 for COR Members; $540 for Non-COR Members
