About

Often people come to therapy struggling with a particular feeling, relationship, or question that they can't seem to escape no matter what they do. Why? Research shows us that our struggles are typically about far more than they appear on the surface. Often the problems of our present are deeply rooted in our pasts and the lessons we learned from our families, cultures, and formative experiences. Yet, we are often unaware of the learned assumptions that govern our lives, even when they get in our way. I see therapy as the gentle untangling of the many lessons that you have learned throughout your lifetime. In our work, I strive to create a caring, playful, and judgment free space where we can begin to discover, process, and let go of the lessons that you hold in your mind, body, and heart that no longer serve you. I believe this untangling will give you the space and freedom to begin to write a new story based in your authentic self. Ultimately, it is my hope that therapy will not only alter the particular problem you entered with but will allow you to feel more whole, enlivened, & resilient in everything you do.

I specialize in working with adults and teens who are struggling with anxiety of all kinds including worries surrounding relationships, work, school, body image, & life purpose. I strive to help you untangle the stories that created these anxieties while releasing the hold they have on both your mind and body. Additionally, having worked in many helping professions myself where I received very little institutional support, I have a special interest in supporting fellow helpers, including medical professionals, educators, international aid workers, fellow counselors, and outdoor guides.

Seeking counseling is a brave act and I deeply admire anyone who takes the first, and often hardest, steps towards healing and change. As you start down this path, I encourage you to find a therapist that you can imagine feeling comfortable with and connected to. I hope that these words have provided you with a taste of who I am and what our work together may look like. If you think you've found that comfort here or if you have any other questions I would love to hear from you!
