S. John McDonald, MA LMHC
We currently offer evening, co-ed, interpersonal, psychotherapy groups, for high functioning individuals and professionals. With 3 groups, we try to match participants, based on the individual's level of "differentiation" and psychological mindedness as well as adult attachment patterns and identified childhood self-defeating Schema patterns (e.g. Emotional Deprivation, Mistrust & Abuse, Abandonment, Social Isolation, Unrelenting Standards, Approval Seeking, Defectivenss and so on). The groups are co-led with my wife and co-therapist of 38 years Agnés J. Forrás, LMHC. Please see our web page for a further description of group therapy benefits. We experience group as a very cost effective and powerful approach to the therapuetic process that can be both an addition to individual therapy or an extension of it, more like graduating to the next phase in one's therapy process. I also work with couples and individuals who's needs are different from group therapy participants.
I use a sliding fee schedule, based upon total family income. I bill all insurances, and are on some insurance panels, including Premera. Coverage for group tends to be limited, however. Checks, Cash, and Credit Cards are acceptable.
