SPSI's Diversity Committee enthusiastically welcomes the Art Salon Committee’s film event, “GET OUT Meets Freud.“ The plans for this event were included in SPSI’s successful bid for APsaA’s 2018 grant for the Development of Psychoanalytic Center Curricula Focused on Diversity. The DC thanks SPSI's Art Salon Committee for their contributions to SPSI’s diversity efforts!
The showing of the movie GET OUT and the panel discussion following provide an opportunity for us to explore as a community the application of a psychoanalytic lens to the topic of racism in America. What is blackness in the white imagination? What defenses and anxieties might be operating unconsciously in the minds of white progressives, and how might they affect how they engage with people of color? The DC hopes you will join us at the event and add your voice to this important conversation.
Registration is free but seating is limited.
