Room 202

Sponsored by:
Jung Society, Seattle

On Saturday the focus for the workshop will be on the Day of the Dead.

Participants are asked to bring photos and mementos as we will create an “ofrenda,” or altar to our departed love ones as they return to us during this one day of the year. Day of the Dead is a pre-Columbian tradition that has taken root in North American culture.

We will begin the day with a discussion of this sacred ritual with a focus on the work of printmaker and engraver Jose Guadalupe Posada and his profound impact on the art of Dia de los Muertos.

To quote Posada, “Todos somos Calaveras,” we are all skeletons.

This workshop will be from 10am-2:30pm, and will include a 30 minute lunch. Please bring your own lunch.
